Because the water storage of 7 dams supplying water to Mumbai has reduced considerably. Only 19% of the water is available in the dams. This is likely to increase the water concerns of Mumbaikars.


However, no announcement has been made in this regard yet. Mumbai is supplied with water from seven dams Upper Vaitrana, Middle Vaitrana, Modak Sagar, Bhatsa, Tansa, Tulsi and Vihar. Upper Vaitrana, Middle Vaitrana and Bhatsa lakes have also dried up.
