A young woman living in Mankhurd area was lured into a love trap and killed by her boyfriend in Uran. After this incident, anger is being expressed in Mankhurd and the residents are demanding that strict action should be taken against the accused.


The dead body of this young woman was found in a sack on the Chirner-Kharpada road in Uran. The name of the accused is Nizamuddin Shaikh (27) and the Mankhurd police detained the accused and later handed him over to the Uran police.

The girl lived in Annabhau Sathe Nagar area of Mankhurd. The accused is a taxi driver and he used to drive taxi between Shivajinagar and Nagpada. The deceased girl also used to go to Nagpada for housework. The two met four years ago and an acquaintance turned into love. The deceased young woman went to work on April 18. In the afternoon she called her brother and informed that she would be late at night. But she never returned home. Despite searching everywhere, she was not found. Hence, on April 19, her mother lodged a missing complaint at the Mankhurd police station.


On April 24, the police called Nizamuddin for questioning while searching for the dead girl. Then, the body of the dead girl was found in Uran the very next day. Meanwhile, the accused took her to the Khadavli area of Kalyan eight days ago on 18th April, with the lure of marriage. After staying there for a few days, the accused strangled her to death. After that, her body was stuffed in a sack and dumped on the Charner-Tighati road in Uran, police investigation revealed. Originally from Uttar Pradesh, Nizamuddin has no place of residence in Mumbai. He used to drive his taxi and live anywhere. Interestingly, Nizamuddin is married and his wife lives in the village.
