The Khar police registered a case after it came to light that a photo of actor Aamir Khan campaigning for a political party was created using deepfake technology.


A video circulating on social media shows Aamir Khan campaigning for politics. Aamir's voice has been changed by Deepfake. This video is from the program 'Satyamev Jayate'. It has been shown that Aamir is supporting Congress while criticizing BJP. After learning about the tape, Aamir Khan himself disclosed the matter and said that the tape was fake.

He clarified that he has never campaigned for any political party in his 35-year career. A complaint was lodged in Khar police station in this matter. The police have since registered a case under sections 419 (impersonation), 420 (cheating) of the IPC and other sections of the Information Technology Act.
