With the BMC elections now nearly upon us, those eligible are encouraged to their digital voter id which will enable one to vote and shape the future of Mumbai.
If you are looking to get your hands on a digital voter id, here are a few simple steps that you need to follow:
- Visit the official election website and click on Form 6. This will enable you to make an online application for the registration of a new voter ID.
- After you proceed as a new user, you will be asked to enter basic details like your name, age, gender, residential address and marital status.
- In the next step, you will be prompted to enter the details of two people who will vouch for you. You will be told to enter their personal information as well as Voter ID details.
- Once you have completed all the above steps, you will be requested to attach all the supporting documents that entail your identity, address proof to complete the enrollment process.
- You will then get an application number on your phone and a registered email ID. You can use your application number to check your Voter ID.
- Once it is uploaded to the website, you can click on the “Download” button to get a copy of your newly generated election card.
Moreover, ahead of the Brihanmumabi Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, voters in Mumbai have increased by 1.4 lakh to 99.5 lakh including 1.1 lakh added in the Mumbai suburban district, as well as, 25,000 in the island city.
