In recent developments, on Wednesday evening, January 3, a massive crisis was averted as a result of the alertness of the driver after a bus carrying people caught fire.
According to reports, the incident took place near Mahalakshmi railway station in Mumbai around 7.40 pm. Moreover, the bus was reportedly carrying workers working for the Coastal Road project in the city.
However, when the bus was close to the Mahalakshmi railway station bridge, smoke started emanating from the engine. As soon as the driver noticed it he stopped the vehicle. Furthermore, the passengers got out of the bus after which the bus caught fire.
Meanwhile, the fire brigade rushed to the spot and doused the fire around 8.06 pm. However, the Police have stated that no person was injured in the incident. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
