Many parts of eastern suburbs and western suburbs will be facing water supply disruption. This is owing to sudden power supply cut off at Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)'s Panjrapur water treatment plant on Monday, May 6.

The restoration work is ongoing and it will require some more time due to which the civic body has announced 10-20 per cent water cut till Tuesday, May 7.

According to the information given by the BMC officials, an alternative source for water supply was set up for an hour after the breakdown. However, areas like Churchgate, Marine Drive, Cuffe Parade, Worli, Mahim, Matunga and Dadar will be undergoing a 10 per cent cut in water supply.

Besides this, civic officials said areas like Dongri, Bhindi Bazar, Sandhurst Road along with Sion, Byculla, Antop Hill and Parel will see a 20 per cent cut in water supply.

Moreover, the entire western suburbs (Bandra to Dahisar) will see a 10 percent cut in water supply, while the eastern suburbs (Byculla to Mulund) will see a 20 percent cut.

Mumbaikars are advised to use water sparingly as this takes places amid the heatwave like conditions in the city.
