After 16 students of a Ghansoli based educational institution were found positive for COVID-19 on Friday, December 17, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is set to undertake strict precautionary action in schools in the city, reports stated. Based on accounts, Abhijit Bangar, the commissioner of NMMC, elaborated that the school in which the cases were found, will remain non-operational for the coming eight days. This will be until all the students, as well as teachers, are tested for coronavirus.

Bangar was quoted by reports elucidating on how there are three building blocks in the campus, thus all students and staff will be checked. He has also asked that the utilization of masks and hand sanitisers be made mandatory.
