Building collapses in Govandi, injures eight

The incident occurred at Govandi's Shivaji Nagar at 2:15 AM in Monday, and injured eight people. They are being treated at Rajawadi Hospital.

In an unfortunate incident, eight people have been injured as a building collapsed at around 2:15 am on Monday in Govandi's Shivaji Nagar.

Dr. Jadhav, AMO, Rajawadi Hospital has informed that the injured are being treated in the OPD. Three out of the eight have - Zubeda Begum Sayyad (70), Ayesha Banu Sayyad (21), Noorjahan Banu Sayyad (45) - are stable.

As per the official information received, part of the upper floor (G+1 structure) collapsed at Plot No 44, Shivaji Nagar, Near Noor Hospital in Govandi. The incident happened when over 20 people were sleeping. MFB, Police, 108 Ambulance & Ward staff reached the spot for investigation.

It is assumed that the collapse happened due to the incessant rain, however, officials reasons have not been told yet.

Police are investigating the matter.
