10 to 12 people suffered food poisoning and one of them died after some residents of Maharashtra Nagar area in Mankhurd ate food prepared on the street on Monday evening. Trombay Police has registered a case and started investigation in this matter. Meanwhile, due to this incident, there has been a sensation in the Mankhurd area.
In the past few years, there has been a huge increase in the number of hawkers in the Maharashtra Nagar area of Mankhurd. Many hawkers cook and sell food along the road. Burgers prepared by a hawker in Maharashtra Nagar were eaten by 10 to 12 people on Monday evening. After half an hour they all started suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea. So the relatives immediately admitted some to the nearby private hospital and some to the municipal hospital.
Many of these were sent home late at night after treatment. But among these the young man Prathamesh Bhokse died. Prathamesh was first admitted to a private hospital in the same area. But as his condition worsened, he was admitted to KEM Hospital. He died during treatment at KEM Hospital. Trombay Police has registered a case and started investigation in this matter.
