After a brief spell of relief from extreme heat, Mumbai will once again experience extreme heat and humidity.  The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heatwave conditions in Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts. Accordingly, the temperature will surge to 37-38 degrees Celsius between Saturday-Monday, April 27-29. It is pertinent to note that this is the second heatwave alert in this month.

Therefore, the civic body has appealed the citizens to be careful and avoid going out of the house at noon. Further, KEM, Nair, Sion and Cooper hospitals have dedicated cold rooms to treat the heatstroke patients.

However, for the past few days, the city has been witnessing a slight relief from scorching heat. Despite this, the air quality remained under satisfactory category with an AQI at 79.

Besides, the weather department has predicted that there will be a heat wave in North India for the next five days. Owing to this, the temperature in Mumbai will also increase.
