The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) had completed the Andheri Ghatkopar Link Road and was one of the first link roads to be completed. Now, the link road will soon get cleared of certain encroachments. The MMRDA and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will work jointly for the same.

Suburban District Minister Aaditya Thackeray, in a review meeting with MMRDA, stressed on improving services on this road. He also spoke about improving the beautification of this stretch that connects the Eastern Express Highway with Western Express Highway.

S V R Srinivas, MMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner, said that there are some narrow patches, and they will clear them. They will be constructing a new bridge over the railway tracks.

Apart from the two temples and two mosques that are to be shifted in Ghatkopar West, there are some structures have to be removed on the Ghatkopar East-West bridge.

Meanwhile, in the L ward, they have to remove a courtyard as it blocks the traffic movement.

The road is used by locals of Ghatkopar and Vikhroli to reach the international airport. A resident of Ghatkopar said that the stretch from Western Express Highway to the airport is in great condition. However, the stretch from Eastern Express Highway to the airport is in a bad shape. It has many speed breakers, illegal parking and potholes.
