The actor who faced defeat after contesting elections on a Congress ticket 15 years ago, Shekhar Suman has now joined the BJP party. 


Shekhar Suman, who played an important role in 'Heeramandi' released last week, has stepped into politics again. He joined the party in the presence of senior BJP leaders including Vinod Tawde and Anil Baluni at the BJP headquarters on Tuesday.


I did not know that I will be here today - Shekhar Suman 

After joining the BJP party, Shekhar Suman said, “I didn't know till yesterday that I would be here today. Many things happen in life knowingly and unknowingly. Sometimes you don't know what to do and you get direction from above and you follow that direction, that's what I did. I come here with a positive attitude. I thank God for ordering me to come here.”

What did Shekhar Suman say after joining BJP? "We have to do what Lord Ram has decided. I don't have any negative thoughts in my mind, I only think about the country. There is a difference between talking and doing what is said. I can give a long speech, but that speech will only make sense if I do something,” said Shekhar Suman. On this occasion, he thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda.


The election was contested 15 years ago 

Shekhar Suman has entered politics for the second time. Earlier, he once contested the Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket. In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, he contested from Patna Sahib, but was defeated by the then BJP candidate and actor Shatrughan Sinha.
