Shiv Sena on Friday revealed its ambitions to establish a role in the national politics after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that he would be happy if a Shiv Sainik becomes the Prime Minister of India in future.

Thackeray was responding to remarks made by Shiv Sena MP Sanjay while addressing the party office-bearers and leaders on the occasion of the party’s 54th foundation day.

On Friday, Raut had expressed that the party sees Thackeray as the future Prime Minister of India. He said that it was time for the Shiv Sena chief to cross the state border and lead the country.

“Now we see Uddhav Thackeray as the future Prime Minister of Indian who would lead the nation. You are leading Maharashtra strongly as the Chief Minister. It is time to lead the country as well,” Raut said.

Replying to this, Thackeray said that he wouldn’t lead the country but will be happy if a Shiv Sainik becomes the Prime Minister.

Moreover, Maharashtra Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray said that Shiv Sena should expand its roots not only in the state but also establish itself in each district of every state. The party workers should take up the work to open Shiv Sena shakhas in every village of the state, he added.

“The Shiv Sena shakhas should not remain limited to Maharashtra but also expand in all states across the country,” the Yuva Sena chief said.

Without naming its former ally - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Thackeray said that he became the CM due to the politics which was being played. He was referring to the political deadlock between the Sena and BJP last year over the Chief Ministerial post.

“Shiv Sena was established to fight injustice and he would continue the legacy of his late father and party founder Bal Thackeray,” he added.

The top Shiv Sena leaders were present during the virtual interaction including Aaditya Thackeray, Anil Desai, Eknath Shinde, Diwakar Raote, Sanjay Raut among others.
