General norms are to be followed strictly, which includes wearing of mask inside the bus at all times. “No Mask No Entry” the agency added. The approval provided by the State Government also says that BEST buses shall accommodate sanitizers for commuters, as well as conductors, drivers, and other staff.
Following the lockdown announcement in March, BEST restarted its services on June 8. However, only essential staff such as government/municipal staff, healthcare workers were allowed to board.

In addition to increasing the passenger capacity for BEST buses, the agency is considering the addition of 2,500 additional buses by March 2022. BEST is also believed to be planning to add more buses on certain routes, particularly during peak hours.
Though the full reopening of buses will bring joy to daily commuters, the same can’t be said about local trains. While the state has recently allowed uniformed security guards to travel by local trains, the government is reportedly going to take a call on fully reopening services over the coming days.
