The daily and monthly pass rates of the BEST bus have been hiked. The daily pass rate of BEST has been increased by ₹10 and the monthly pass rate by ₹150. This increase will be effective from March 1.
The footfall of BEST passengers, which fell during the Corona era, has increased and the buses of BEST have started running at full capacity. The air-conditioned buses provided by the BEST initiative are getting good response from the passengers. The BEST has also provided daily pass facility along with monthly pass for the convenience of passengers. It is also getting good response from passengers. The number of daily and monthly pass holders of BEST is 1 lakh 40 thousand 965.
To solve the problem of spare coins, make it convenient to avail the bus scheme of BEST, to increase the income of BEST, the BEST has decided to revise the daily and monthly pass tariff. Under the revised scheme, weekly and monthly bus passes have been made available in line with existing air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned travel fares of ₹6, ₹13, ₹19 and ₹25. Also, the daily pass for unlimited bus travel has been increased from ₹50 to ₹60, while the monthly pass has been increased from ₹750 to ₹900. The facility of unlimited bus rides has been retained. Also, the facility of unlimited travel through daily bus passes has been maintained.
The BEST administration had implemented a revised bus pass scheme for commuters in April 2023. Now the new pass scheme has been implemented from 1st March 2024. A total of 42 types of bus passes were available in the previous bus pass scheme. That number has now come down to 18 and 24 bus passes have been reduced.

The fleet of the BEST initiative currently has 2,941 buses carrying 33 to 34 lakh passengers every day. Therefore, after Central and Western locales, Mumbai has the highest number of passengers travelling by BEST. BEST fares are ₹6 for air-conditioned travel up to 5 km and ₹5 for normal bus travel. Revised bus passes are applicable on air-conditioned as well as non-air-conditioned bus services. However, there has been no increase in the general ticket price.
