A 16-year-old student's body was found in the washroom of an International School and Junior College in Jogeshwari East on Thursday. Police suspected it to be a suicide.
According to the police, the school cleaner went to the bathroom around 12.30 pm and found a girl sitting on the floor inside a stall, leaning against the door with her back to the toilet.

Feeling suspicious, she knocked on the door of the stall but got no response. The staff then went to the adjacent stall and peeped in to find the girl sitting behind the door. She immediately informed the school management about the incident. School officials rushed the girl to Cooper Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The Aarey sub police in Goregaon have registered a case of accidental death in connection with the incident and investigations are on to find out if and why the student's death was a suicide. The school management sent a message to the students of the school and junior college informing them of the death of the class 11 student.
