BMC Commissioner Ajoy Mehta suspended Sudhanshu Dwivedi, Assistant Commissioner - N Ward. This is the first time that an incident regarding termination of a commissioner has come to light. Dwivedi was terminated on the grounds of assistance provided to unauthorised developments in the ward.
As per civic norms, every officer has to submit his/her work report to his/her senior officer. Narendra Berde, Deputy Commissioner (BMC) didn't receive work report of Sudhanshu Dwivedi. BMC Commissioner Ajoy Mehta also stated that there is a doubt that Dwivedi is involved in criminal activities, owing to which further probe is on.
