Anti-encroachment drive by BMC

Mumbai- BMC has started an anti-encroachment drive to get rid of illegal hawkers. Until now, BMC has kicked out 149 illegal hawkers of western suburbs. Along with this, 140 handcarts, 65 gas stoves & 63 cylinders were seized byBMC's licence department. Deputy Licence superintendent Prakash Jadhav said that they have destroyed the handcarts while they will auction the gas stoves. This action was taken in R- North, R- Central, R- South, P-South, P-North & K-Ward. BMC claims that this drive will enable pedestrians to walk freely.
