In the view of end of the financial year along with festivities, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has extended the deadline for water bill payments for the citizens giving them three additional days.
The Civic Facilitation Centres will remain open on March 29, 30, and 31 to make payments without inconvenience. During this period, the residents can pay their bills between 8 am to midnight (12 am).
The extended working hours offer citizens an opportunity to pay their overdue water bills until the last moment.
According to an announcement on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, March 27, this extension and the payment process will be carried out under the Abhay Yojana scheme, providing a final opportunity for residents to settle their dues. Additionally, under Abhay Yojana, citizens can get a waiver on additional charges by paying your water bill in full at once.
For the unversed, the BMC is running the "Abhay Yojana" to offer special relief to water connection holders who have pending charges, the officials said, adding that under the scheme, if the overdue amount is paid in one lump sum, the additional penalties will be waived.
The "Abhay Yojana" aims to assist water connection holders by providing relief from extra charges imposed due to late payments.
