As the COVID-19 cases have seen a significant spike since last week and possibility of fourth wave, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have put all the labs and hospitals on alert.
Owing to this, the civic body has geared up its game to fight against the novel coronavirus and released fresh orders today, June 4. BMC also urged all the citizens to wear masks.
Moreover, with the onset of monsoon, the civic body has warned of water-borne diseases.
This development came after the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan on Friday, June 3, has written to the health secretary of Maharashtra over increasing number of coronavirus cases in these states.

Meanwhile, a day earlier, the civic body had announced to increase the daily tests from 8,000 to 25,000.
Additionally, in a bid to ascertain the reason for the surge in COVID-19 cases in Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sent swab samples collected from across the city for genome sequencing to the lab at Kasturba Hospital. Test results to identify the variant of coronavirus are expected in the next two days.
