Fire breaks out at Andheri's 22-storey tower; 2 dead

On Tuesday, November 13, 2018, a massive fire broke out in a 22-storey SRA tower at Veera Desai road in Andheri around 8:30 pm. The fire broke out on the 10th and 11th floor of the tower. When the fire broke out, five people were stuck in the tower out of which, three were rescued by firefighters but two died due to suffocation. 

According to the firefighters, short circuit was the cause of the fire on the 10th floor which then escalated to the 11th floor. 

During the rescue operation, firefighters came across two dead bodies in flat no. 1001 on the 10th floor. Vicky Sharma (25) and Sagar Sharma (7) died due to suffocation while Lal Krishna Sharma (50) suffered burn injuries and is now recuperating and is in stable condition.
