Petrol prices fall below ₹80 in Mumbai for the first time in nine months

On November 27, petrol prices fell below ₹80 per for the first time in almost nine months, in Mumbai. 

According to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the price of petrol dropped to ₹7962 per in the financial capital. It last retailed below ₹80 per on March 3, at ₹7987 per .

On March 4, the price had increased to ₹8013 per and continued to sell above that level for almost nine months. The price of diesel in Mumbai on November 27 was ₹7213 per , lowest in almost four months.

In other metropolitan cities such as Chennai and Kolkata, the price of petrol per was ₹7688 and ₹7606, respectively. The price of diesel in the two cities was ₹7277 and ₹7074 per , respectively.
