A toilet has been demolished to open a dispensary outside Bandra East Railway Station and a new toilet has not been constructed despite the demand. Therefore, the High Court on Monday took cognizance of the massive inconvenience caused to passengers. Also, the court directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Railway Administration and Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to take necessary measures to provide toilet facilities outside Bandra East Railway Station.

Earlier, there was a toilet outside Bandra East Railway Station. However, a hospital was to be built in that place. Hence, the toilet was demolished. By correspondence with the concerned authorities including the BMC, a statement was made and a demand was made to construct a toilet outside the station. However, the court was told on behalf of the petitioners that no measures have been taken to construct the toilet except for forwarding a proposal or a statement.
On that, the municipal council assured the court that the petitioner's proposal would be considered. At the same time, the court also pointed out that the land outside the station is owned by the Railways and MMRDA. However, the court ordered the railway administration along with the BMC and MMRDA to provide toilet facilities outside the station to avoid inconvenience to the passengers. The court also clarified that the three systems should mutually provide this facility. Apart from that, if an organisation is going to cooperate in this work, then the toilet facility should be provided with the help of the organisation, the court also mainly mentioned.
