In order to avert any mishaps similar to the Andheri bridge incident, BMC, Central Railways, and Western Railways will hold meetings on a monthly basis. They also aim to have a discussion on issues in the meetings to improve coordination amongst themselves.
On July 5, a meeting was held where the decision was made regarding the same. The meeting was conducted by BMC Commissioner Ajoy Mehta with Senior Engineers, as well as Central and Western Railways’ engineers were also present.
This meeting took place on Thursday at the BMC headquarters led by Ajoy Mehta. In this meeting, Central Railway General Manager D.K. Sharma, Divisional Railway Manager S.K. Jain and senior engineers of Central and Western Railway were present. Along with BMC's engineering services and projects director Vinod Chitore, the chief of the bridge department, Sheetla Prasad Kori was also present. In this meeting, there were discussions about the upcoming problems about bridges under the control of BMC and Railways.

There are 445 bridges of various types, including ROB, FOB, Skywalk, under the Central Railway and Western Railway. Structural audits of all these bridges are set to happen on Friday and 12 teams have been formed for the task. The team includes engineers of, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Bombay), Railways, and BMC. The bridges will be examined as per their age, i.e. the older bridges will be inspected initially by the team.
