Ganpati festival is in its final days and the instance of the departure of Lord Ganesha is upon us. Ganpati Visarjan is celebrated by immersing the idols of Ganesha at sea bodies which signifies the conclusion of the festival.
One such immersion site, Girgaon Chowpatty can be a bit dangerous this year as recently, stingrays were found on the beach. Last year, many people were injured after they were stung by jellyfish and stingrays.

Marine enthusiast Pradip Patade stated that while taking a stroll at Girgaon Chowpatty, he spotted dangerous fish like stingrays, jellyfish, and butterflyfish. For the last five days, there were no signs of any poisonous fish but after the sudden emergence of these fish, an atmosphere of panic is hovering over the devotees.

Patade further added that getting stung by a stingray can cause a lot of pain and this sudden increase in the number stingrays showing up at the Girgaon coast is alarming. The stingrays on the coasts this year mostly consist of stingray offsprings.
