TMC urges Thanekars to contribute used and good condition items to 'RRR' centers

Thane Municipal Corporation has started 'RRR' centers at 10 locations such as headquarters and ward committee offices to enable citizens of Thanekar to donate their obsolete but critical and reusable items. Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao inaugurated this center at the municipal headquarters on the occasion of World Environment Day.

Usable goods will be distributed to the needy through NGOs. Therefore, Municipal Commissioner Rao has appealed to the citizens of Thanekar to donate as many good things as possible by giving a spontaneous response to this campaign.

Under Swachh Survekshan 2024, the Municipal Corporation is moving towards the 'Zero Waste Concept'. The aim is to make the city look clean and beautiful, thereby improving the health of the citizens. Good things that are lying in the house but can be used can be useful to the needy. For this purpose, the concept of 'RRR' i.e. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle is being implemented to collect books, old toys, clothes, e-waste. For this, these centers have been started in Thane Municipal Area, Municipal Headquarters at Panchpakhadi and nine Ward Committee Offices.
