Chetan Chougule (32) strangled his wife, Aarti Chougule (22) to death over her mobile phone addiction. Chougule was a worker at MIDC in Andheri and lived with his wife, parents - Mohan and Janabai Chougule and a 2-year-old son, Krishna. Aarti apparently always nagged about money which resulted in many disputes among them.

The deceased watched many videos for hours and that always agitated Chetan. On Tuesday night, Aarti was on her phone before he went to bed and when he woke up at 4:00 am, she was still glued to her phone. This provoked Chetan more and he strangled her to death in frustration. After realising what he had done, he felt guilty and went to Thane police station to surrender. The court will conduct the hearing of this case on April 15.
