In connection with Bhima-Koregaon violence, the Pune police arrested five activists, including Dalit activist Sudhir Dhawale who was arrested in Mumbai. Between December 31 and January 1, thousands of Dalit had gathered in Bhima-Koregaon to pay respect to the Mahar regiment on the 200th anniversary of the battle of Bhima-Koregaon.
