After a long wait, ALTBalaji and ZEE5 reveal the first exclusive look of the upcoming web-series It Happened in Calcutta. Directed by Ken Ghosh, the web-series aims to take one back in time, when there were many taboos for women and the country was dealing with political unrest, war and cholera.
It Happened in Calcutta features a talented set of actors like Karan Kundrra, Naghma Rizwan, Harman Singha, Pamela Bhutoria, Sunanda Wong, Simran Kaur Mundi amongst others.
Karan will be seen playing the character of Ronobir, a student of Calcutta Medical College and a handsome Casanova. Not only he is brilliant with his academic record but also has girls drooling all over him; he is 'practically' loving and caring, in short, best of both worlds.
Naghma Rizwan will make her debut with this web series and it is said that this is a laudable achievement for her as she was the lucky one amongst 200 girls to play the female lead in the show. She will be seen as Kusum who is a part of the Calcutta Medical College at a time when the field of medicine was dominated by men. She was the only female MBBS student of her batch who was sweet, smart, single and not ready to mingle. But things are expected to change for her when she meets Ronobir (Karan Kundrra).
The story focuses on love, betrayal, friendship and also showcases how each love story is different. Over two separate scenarios, we see the two sides to the story of Kusum and Ronobir as they’re seen in a warm embrace just as having their backs to one another. While some love stories are meant to see two hearts together, in some it is the separation between them that defines the essence of their tale.
The trailer of the show will be released on February 14, 2020, Valentine's Day and the show will be available on ALTBalaji and ZEE5.
