IIT-Mumbai launches E-Postgraduate Diploma in 'e-mobility'

The Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai (IIT Mumbai) has launched an e-postgraduate diploma course for advanced education in e-mobility. This 18 months industry oriented course will be started from March 2025 onwards. IIT Mumbai and EdTech Great Learning have created a 'Post Graduate Course in E-Mobility'. Director of IIT Mumbai Prof. Shirish Kedare said that the students who complete this course will be awarded the diploma through the convocation ceremony.

The e-postgraduate diploma launched in 'e-mobility' is an important step in the process of modernising education at IIT Mumbai. C 1973 EV Power Train Lab will be important for this course. Prof. Shirish Kedare said while inaugurating the course that the agreements made with various companies are becoming important to bridge the gap between education and hands-on experience.

This course is designed to provide advanced education to individuals, researchers, entrepreneurs working in the field of 'e-mobility'. The course covers various key topics including Electric Vehicle Design, Battery Technology, Electrical Drives, Power Electronics and more. Kedare said that the emphasis is on practical and interactive learning.

Government policies and growing environmental awareness are driving the demand for electric vehicles in India and globally. Therefore, this field is progressing rapidly. There is a growing demand for skilled individuals in the e-mobility sector.

Therefore, this course will be important for those who want to make a career in this industry. A student taking admission in this course will be able to learn Vehicle Sub System Modeling, Embedded Controllers for Electric Motors, Simulation of Power Electronic Systems, Mohan Lakhamraju, Founder and CEO of Great Learning, said that there will be projects like Battery Modeling Techniques and Degradation Phenomena, Modeling and Control of EV Chargers, EV on Grid Infrastructure.

Admission Eligibility

B. E / B. Tech degree or relevant four years B.Sc or BS degree in Engineering or Technology for admission to 'e-mobility' e-postgraduate degree course, also candidates with M.Tech, M.Sc., M.Sc or Post Graduate or Doctoral degree related to Engineering and Technology can apply.
