Online classes for students from the Science, Commerce and Arts stream, for Class 11 (FYJC), started from Monday, November 2, 2020. To ensure a smooth process, students were asked to pre-register for the same and teachers were asked to take a note of their presence.
As per reports, students were given an option to start their studies in the branch of their choice even if they have not secured admission into any college, however, they had to mandatorily undergo the pre-registration process. Once registered, a schedule was sent to them and further details were shared through messages and e-mails.
Admissions for FYJC were stopped earlier due to the ambiguity created regarding the ongoing Maratha reservation issues, and the process is expected to begin soon, once the solution is announced. Currently, more than 14.3 lakh students from Maharashtra have filled the admission form for FYJC, out of which more than 11.5 lakh have sought admission in the first round. The next round will focus on the remaining 2.79 lakh students who are waiting for the same.
Officials are not clear about the next round of admissions and the current process which is being followed. The uncertainty from the government and selected groups has raised concerns for the students and the colleges, whereby admission letters have not been issued to the students yet. However, the government is trying to make sure the education is not affected, and hence, they have directed the teachers to start online classes which began from Monday.
Students willing to join these classes will have to register at the website here, and upon registration, students will be provided with a schedule and required details.
