Every year, people in lakhs come to watch their beloved deity (Lord Ganesha) immersed in the Arabian Sea across several beaches in Mumbai. However, the most prominent spot for the devotees to gather is Girgaon Chowpatty in South Mumbai.
The Ganeshotsav ended with the immersion of Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja. The idol was immersed after a 21-hour-long procession on Monday morning at 9:00 AM. People in huge numbers gathered at Girgaon beach to bid the last farewell to their deity. People from the Koli community immersed the idol carrying it on their boats.
