Mumbai: Nearly 190 Students Of BMC Schools Suffering From Health Issues

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)’s health department recently released the reports of yearly medical checkup of the students conducted at the civic-run schools. Every year students from Class 1 to 10 are examined by the health department team.

However, this year, it was revealed that 160 children suffer from tuberculosis, 24 from heart disease and three from leprosy.

According to BMC, between June 2022 and April 2023, 2,37,992 students from classes 1 to 10 were screened for various diseases.

Of the total students, 46,684 were referred to BMC clinics or hospitals for further examination. In which 160 students were found to be suffering from tuberculosis, 24 from heart disease and three from leprosy.
