Officials sealed 30 private water supply projects located in Nanded village, Dhairi and nearby areas on Sinhagad Road in Pune. These areas have been identified as epicenters of the epidemic. It was decided to close the project after the water samples taken from them were found to be unfit for drinking.

Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rare neurological disorder in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks the peripheral nervous system. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), this syndrome often develops after a person is infected with certain bacteria or viruses.

Although the exact cause of GBS is unclear, it is often linked to a previous viral or bacterial infection, vaccination, or major surgery. These triggers can cause the immune system to become overactive, attacking the body's nerves.
