NMMC to conduct special vaccination drive for Covishield second dose

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) said that it would be arranging a special vaccination drive for Covishield second dose for citizens who would be going abroad. The announcement comes days after the BMC also declared to conduct an inoculation drive for those eligible for the second dose of Covishield in this category, reports suggested.

This special vaccination camp is for the citizens who would be going abroad for studies, jobs or for participating in the Tokyo Olympics. It further said the second dose can be taken 28 days post the first dose in a special centre – Maasaheb Meenatai Thackeray Hospital, Sector 15, Nerul in Navi Mumbai.

A separate section has been set up in the health department on the third floor of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation headquarter, where the beneficiaries have to show their documents and get themselves registered for the second dose of vaccine from 2 pm to 6 pm.

The documents include admission letter, form for student foreign visa, job offer/appointment letter for employees, authorized letter from sports ministry for Tokyo Olympic participants are required for the walk-in registrations.

Earlier, the NMMC had conducted three special vaccination drive for those going abroad starting earlier this month. In the first two special vaccination sessions, a total of 319 students were vaccinated.
