Navi Mumbai: CIDCO Launches Affordable Housing Scheme

According to the latest reports, on Thursday, January 27, the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) proclaimed an economical housing scheme of 5,730 tenements. By means of this scheme, 5,730 tenements have been made accessible in Navi Mumbai near the Taloja lake for the economically weaker sections (EWS) as well as the general category of citizens. 

Based on accounts, online applications and registration for the same commenced on Wednesday, January 26. Officials have remarked that 1,524 tenements are accessible through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for the EWS. On the other hand, the remaining 4,206 are for the general category, stated narratives.

It has been reported that EWS applicants are also eligible for a grant worth INR 2.5 lakh. Moreover, reports have quoted officials elaborating on how the online application and registration will be accepted till February 24, 2022.

These can be accessed through https://lottery.cidcoindia.com. Moreover, the deadline for online deposits is February 25, 2022. Apart from this, the scheme will be drawn by a computer which will occur on March 11. An official added that the eligibility criteria are available on the website. 

Reports have quoted Eknath Shinde, Urban Development Minister and Guardian Minister Thane elucidating on how the CIDCO's contribution is valuable in helping fulfil a man's dream of owning a home. On the other hand, Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, Vice President and Managing Director, CIDCO urged citizens to take advantage of the scheme.
