CIDCO to release lottery of 8,000 houses

Mumbaikars who did not get a chance at Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) housing lottery, no need to lose hope. People can now buy a house in Navi Mumbai, thanks to City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) who will release lottery for 8,000 houses in 2018.

CIDCO has begun constructing not 1,000 or 2,000 but a total of 52,047 houses in areas like Taloja, Dronagiri, Kalamboli and Kharghar. Out of 52,000 houses, 8,000 will be released through a lottery system in 2018, confirmed Mohan Ninawe, CIDCO PRO. However, dates for the same have not been finalised yet, he added.

CIDCO is constructing 52,047 houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna out of which 15,152 houses will be built in the first phase. These houses are being built by BG Shirke Constructions and they will be ready by 2020.

What will be the Sq feet?

5,329 houses of 307 sq feet will be made available for Economic Weaker Section (EWS) class and 9,823 houses of 370 sq feet will be made available for lower income group (LIG) class.

Rates of houses to be fixed

CIDCO’s finance department will decide the rates and once it is fixed, then the marketing department will publish the advertisement of the same in local newspapers. The whole process will take approximately two to three months.
