A lot of road works are going on in Thane city. On Saturday, Thane Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar directed that all executive engineers should take care that these works are completed before May 31. The Commissioner inspected the road works in Thane on Saturday.
Drainage work is going on under the highway at Dnyanasadhana College. This work should be completed quickly and the road should be handed over to MMRDA immediately. This work is expected to be done before May 31. But, at present, the commissioner directed that the municipal corporation should open this belt for work in a phased manner. Also, MMRDA officials should be contacted to make the road to Kopri and Bhaskar Colony available at the earliest. The commissioner also explained that he should also take the help of the traffic police.
Speedy repair of modella naka junction
The busiest Modella Naka Junction is also currently under construction. The central road work should be completed on time and the remaining works should be completed in two phases instead of three, the surface of the concreting completed road should be connected at the same level with the ongoing road, so that the traffic can remain smooth while other works are going on, said commissioner Bangar.No parking of vehicle at the junction
It is observed that trains and buses are parked near the signal on most of the roads in the city. The actual junction area should be completely parking free. Therefore, action should be taken against the vehicle parked there. Similarly, care should be taken to ensure that vehicles are not parked in this area, instructed Bangar.Entry to passport office should be disabled friendly
As the height of the footpath near the passport office is high, two steps have been made there. The commissioner gave instructions to fix those steps and make a disabled friendly ramp on its side. Also, the level of the new bus stop in the vicinity should be kept at par with the footpath, he said.

Beautification of station premises
A separate tender should be floated for the beautification of Thane station area. Also, the commissioner said that attention should be paid to ensure that this area remains better and brighter. The commissioner also inspected the station area, platform number two, rickshaw and taxi stand, transport bus stand, and cleanliness in the area.
