In its first budget presented by the Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena-BJP government, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday, March 9, announced new metro projects in Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur.
Taking it to Twitter, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated about the speeding up metro projects in Mumbai. A total of INR 39,000 crores has been proposed for Metro projects in Thane, Nashik, Pimpri-Chinchwad. A total of 337 kms metro lines has been allocated. Of which 46 kms route has already been opened while more 50 kms route will be opened soon this year.
New Projects in Mumbai:
Mumbai Metro 10: 9.2 km from Gaymukh to Shivaji Chowk Mira Road has been given INR 4,476 crore provision
Mumbai Metro 11: Provision of INR 8739 crore for the 12.77 km stretch from Wadala to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT)
Mumbai Metro 12: 20.75 km from Kalyan to Taloja gets a provision of INR 5,865 crore.
Besides, Thane Circular Metro, Nashik Neo Metro, Pimpri-Chinchwad to Nigdi Corridor of Pune Metro and Swargate to Katraj Metro will be taken up as new projects. In addition, the Navi Mumbai Metro Rail Project is in progress.
Metro projects in other cities:
Under the Pune Metro Rail Project, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to Phugewadi of Corridor I and Vanaz to Garware College of Corridor II has been commissioned. INR 8,313 crores for Pune Metro work in progress.
Under the Nagpur Metro Rail Project, Khapri to Automotive Square of North-South corridor and Lokmanya Nagar to Prajapati Nagar of East-West corridor have been commissioned. INR 6,708 crores for second phase of 43.80 km Nagpur Metro.

Metro Line 3: Colaba to Bandra to Seepz
Metro Line 4: Wadala to Ghatkopar to Thane to Kasarwadavli
Metro Line 4A: Kasarwadavli to Gaimukh
Metro Line 5: Thane to Bhiwandi to Kalyan
Metro Line 6: Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli
Metro Line 9: Dahisar (E) to Mira Bhayandar to Andheri
