Mumbai - Election Commission is keeping a close check on the parties expense during the election. Party is accountable for every penny they are spending. Candidates have to produce the record of all the expenses made during polls. Right from the banners and flags to water bottles distributed during the campaign rally.
2,271 candidates are battling it out in this polls. EC has kept the cash limit up to Rs 5 lakh. Election Commission Officer Sanjog Kabre told Mumbai Live,"Candidates are under the scanner during this polls." One of the candidates stated that if a candidate is supporting the party with a flag in his hand, he is paid a sum of Rs 570 for the day.
The message is loud and clear, the party can't lure or win voters on the basis of money.
