Amid the polling in Maharashtra for the assembly elections, a man on Monday created a ruckus and threw ‘blue ink’ on the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) at a polling station in Thane.
The man was identified as Sunil Khambe, a Republican Party activist. After Khambe created ruckus inside the polling booth while shouting slogans against the EVM, the police immediately arrested him.
Democracy is threatened by EVMs. The ruling party has eliminated all opposition parties with the help of EVMs. Even If I am hanged, I will keep opposing the EVMs. It should be opposed to saving democracy,” said Sunil Khambe.

While talking to the media, Sunil Khambe said that democracy is under threat because of the EVMs. Inside the polling station, Khambe started sloganeering: “EVM Murdabad” after which he was dragged out by the police.
