Irregularities in counting of votes for Mumbai North West Lok Sabha seat: Aaditya Thackeray

Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray has decided to challenge the matter in the court, alleging irregularities in the counting of votes in the Mumbai North West Lok Sabha seat. Ravindra Waikar of Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) has been declared victorious from Mumbai North West Lok Sabha seat by 48 votes. The defeat of Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Amol Kirtikar by just 48 votes has once again revived the EVM issue.

Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray group leader Anil Parab has alleged that there is a lack of transparency in the counting of votes in the constituency since the 19th round. There is a difference of 650 votes between ARO and our votes. Anil Parab has made a sensational claim that our votes were not counted after the 19th round. Anil Parab said, Amol Kirtikar lost by 48 votes in the results declared on June 4, this is all a suspicious result. The election process was completely cancelled after the 19th round.

He further said that after each round, the figures of how many votes each candidate got have been given. It started well after every round till the 19th round. Party representatives tally the figures. Then the RO finalises the data, the distance between the RO and the candidate's representative is greater. After counting of votes, Form 17C will have to be filled. In which you will have to tell how many votes your candidate got. But many people were not given forms. We got more than 650 votes. There is a difference of 650 votes between our votes and theirs.

We will file a petition in the court- Anil Parab

Anil Parab said, "This victory is ours, this victory was snatched away using government machinery, check the history of RO, how many cases of corruption are there, Election Commission should take complaint and investigate, we will go to court in two days. Will file a petition, this is the difference of 650 votes between Round 19 and 23. We are going to file a petition under the Representation of the People Act on misuse of government machinery."
