India player Manish Rao powered Ekta Parivaar to an emphatic victory against Pickloholics 13-2 in the first round of the Ekta World Pickleball Super Cup powered by DCB Bank at the Khar Gymkhana on Friday.
Barring the first doubles which Pickloholics won 2-1, Ekta Parivaar did not drop a point by winning each of the remaining four matches 3-0. Rao played his part in the second doubles teaming up with Aniket Durgawali as they downed Vicky Chugh and Kashyap Baranwal 11-6, 11-10, 11-8.
In the most keenly contested tie of the day, Super Smashers upstaged Dink Killers 9-6 with the mixed doubles pair of Kuldip Mahajan and Vrushali Thakare turning the tide in the last match. They defeated Vishal Chugh and Roshani Khambayat 3-0 to seal a thrilling win for Super Smashers as the scores were tied at 6-all after the first four matches.
Mixed Pickles were the other big winners of the day defeating Phantom Stars 10-5.
