Their demands included immediate implementation of the 7th Pay Commission and a 10 per cent salary hike for junior grade employees which had been pending since April 2016. Former Chief Minister Narayan Rane intervened and stated that they will take appropriate decisions after Ganesh Chaturthi.

However, they haven't received any proper response from the authorities yet and therefore have threatened to go on a strike from October 9. Notably, In January 2019, BEST had gone a 9-day strike which had affected Mumbaikars drastically.
