Central Railway (CR) has announced an important update for Mumbai local train passengers. A special traffic and power block has been put in place on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, July 20-21.
According to CR, this block is important for erecting special portal booms and removing old anchors using 800 MT airdrop road cranes.
Due to this block, the last local from Karjat and Thane will be cancelled. Kasara local at 12.14 midnight will run as the last local during this period. The block will affect all routes including the slow and fast routes between CSMT and Byculla and the harbor route between CSMT and Wadala.
"Block timing has been fixed from 00:30 am to 04:30 am on Sunday to ensure necessary infrastructure improvements. Passengers are advised to plan their journey accordingly and be prepared with further announcements from railway," an official said.

Between Byculla and CSMT on up and down slow line and up and down fast line (with 7th line and CSMT shunting neck), Up and Down Harbor Lines between Wadala Road and CSMT
Suburban services will not be available on main line between Byculla and CSMT and between CSMT on Wadala Road and Harbor line during this block period.
Up and down suburban services on the main line at Byculla, Paral, Thane and Kalyan stations will be curtailed during the block period.
Also up and down suburban service on Harbor route will continue till Wadala Road station.
The last local on the slow route down from CSMT will be the Kasara local on 12.14 am.
The last local for CSMT on slow route from Kalyan will be at 10:34 PM.
The first local on the down fast route from CSMT will be at 04.47 am for Karjat.
For CSMT on up slow route the first local from Thane will be at 04:00 AM.
The last local on CSMT to Down Harbor route will be Panvel local at 12.13 am.
The last local for CSMT on the Up Harbor route will be the 10.46 pm local from Panvel.
The first local from CSMT on Down Harbor will be 04:52 AM Panvel Local and the first local for CSMT on Bandra to Up Harbor route will be 04:17 AM Local.
