Mumbai: Five new AC double-decker electric buses to run from Wednesday

BEST has decided to increase the number of AC double decker buses in Mumbai. BEST administration has decided to introduce five new AC double-decker electric buses on the roads of Mumbai from Wednesday. BEST is gradually trying to replace all conventional double-decker buses with state-of-the-art electric models.

Currently boasting a fleet of 12 air-conditioned double-decker electric buses, BEST's decision to gradually phase out its older, non-air-conditioned counterparts is a testament to the city's commitment to cleaner and more modern public transport. These newly introduced electric buses not only contribute to a cleaner urban environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but they also provide a more comfortable and quieter travel experience to passengers.

With their air-conditioned double-decker design, these buses offer enhanced seating capacity, allowing efficient transportation of a large number of people. To further support this eco-friendly initiative, BEST has already introduced 200 An order has been placed for the purchase of electric air-conditioned double-decker buses. Of these, 12 buses are already operational, and an additional five buses will be introduced into service this Wednesday. In addition, ten more air-conditioned double-decker buses have arrived in Mumbai and will be integrated into service soon after necessary infrastructure including registration procedures and charging facilities are in place.
