Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Unveils Metro 3 Model Named 'Aqua Line'

As a part of the 'Make In India' initiative, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) will procure 31 trains of eight metro coaches each from Alstom India. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis unveiled the rolling stock train model of Metro 3 on Friday, August 16.

The coaches will be in aqua and beige colour particularly representing the Arabian Sea and hence, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis named it 'Aqua Line'. All the trains will be manufactured in Sri City in the state of Andhra Pradesh. 

It will have a programmable digital route map indicator, passenger announcement system for easy passenger disembark, dedicated space to accommodate wheelchair for differently-abled persons, voice communication facility between passenger and controller in case of any emergency etc.
