Passengers of ST buses will soon have a more comfortable commute as the ST Corporation is set to roll out sleeper buses by the name ‘Shayanyan’. These sleeper buses will be operational after being certified by the Pune Central Institute of Road Transportation (CIRT).

The state cabinet minister of transport, Diwakar Raote, had announced state-of-the-art air-conditioned sleeper coach along with 1,000 non-AC sleeper buses to be added to the ST Corporation fleet, in January 2018. The sleeper coaches are being manufactured at central workshops in Pune.
Each bus will be a 30-seater with two-by-one seating arrangement. The new buses will replace 600 overnight ST buses operational currently. Hence, the services will provide a better alternative for long-distance travel passengers.
