Action is being taken regarding single use plastic ban in various parts of Thane city. The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board and the Thane Municipal Pollution Department are conducting the raid and a total of 9.5 kilos of plastic was seized in the action against single use plastic ban under the Majiwada Manpada Ward Committee. A total fine of 22 thousand 500 rupees was recovered in the visits given to various shops and establishments


On Monday, June 24, 12.5 kg of plastic was seized in the single use plastic ban operation conducted under Vartak Nagar Ward Committee. While a fine of INR 16500/- was collected after visiting various shops and establishments.


In both these operations, a total of 22 kg of banned plastic was seized and a fine of INR 39,000 thousand was recovered, the Pollution Department of the Municipal Corporation informed. Chief Environment Officer Manisha Pradhan mentioned that plastic ban action will continue under various ward committees of Thane Municipal Corporation.
