Western Railway (WR) has taken yet another significant step towards enhancing passenger convenience and modernizing its infrastructure by introducing passenger friendly train indicators over Mumbai suburban stations. This initiative has been undertaken as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) works.

According to a press release issued by Public Relations Department of Western Railway, in a boost to passenger convenience, new state-of-the-art indicators have been installed at Marine Lines, Charni Road, Grant Road, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi, Jogeshwari, and Malad stations. With a redesigned visual appearance and upgraded matrix grid display, these indicators offer improved readability and better visibility, making the travel experience more seamless for daily commuters. one of the standout features of these new indicators is the scrolling information line, which dynamically displays the names of stations where the train will halt, providing real-time and easy-to-understand travel information to passengers. The indicators are also multilingual, ensuring effective communication across diverse passenger demographics.

It is worth mentioning that these indicators have been designed with modern technology in mind. The indicators are connected via an Ethernet-based network, enabling centralised monitoring, swift troubleshooting, and customisation from a remote location.

Western Railway remains committed to providing a smart and commuter-friendly environment by leveraging technology and innovation. This upgrade in passenger information systems is a step towards that goal.
